Ok, so now for an actual blog post hahah. I’ve actually had this on my mind for a few days.
So, Christians don’t follow many of the Jewish laws because they’re no longer “relevant” anymore. For example, eating pig. In the Old Testament, it is stated that pig is an unclean animal. It was just recently that I came across this video (watch it):
This video made me think. God didn’t make rules to make rules, he made rules for a purpose. He made rules to help us out a little, and to give us guidance. This means, the majority of the time I believe God has a logical reason to his rules. Because pork is so unhealthy, God didn’t want us to eat it. It makes sense!
In the same way, I was thinking about sexual immorality. I think that definition can vary from person to person. However, that is not the point I am getting at. To understand what I am saying the definition we can follow is one person sleeping around with many people, or hooking up with randos all the times. That being said, I like this verse:
18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. (Corinthians 6:18-19)
Okay so cool, God wants us to stay pure. But he actually also states a logical reason in this. You are going against yourself, showing yourself no self discipline and low self control. That makes you a weakened individual, a rowdy, and childish individual. You lose self-respect. It makes sense. It really does.
Therefore, I really do believe that God has a logical reason to everything he does. From rules, to plans for our future. He knows what he’s doing!
